Multicultural Team Members
So, today I was reading the article, Managing Multicultural Team, thinking about one major problem that kept coming up throughout the reading. Having different cultures and ways of communicating, I think that differences in language is the main foundation to all the problems in international business affairs. If any problems occur during a business transaction it starts with communication. If each parties cannot understand each other things such as goals, ideas, and work effort may be misunderstood. Challenges we could see are, if team members do not speak the same language they might not listen to each others feedback as much as team members that speak the same language. Accents may have different meanings to an American person where as it means something completely different to a person from India. Also, the possibility of destroying a business deal can be blamed on language differences and set the company in a bad position.
